Highlights

With some of the most breathtaking vistas in Britain, Yorkshire is a very special place. Join us on this weekend trip to visit quaint villages and brooding moors of Bronte country and the splendid scenery of Fountains Abbey.

Saturday 26th May:

We will depart bright and early from South Kensington on board our comfortable coach. Our first port of call will be the pretty town of Keighley, where we will board a steam train to travel through the Worth Valley. Many films and TV programmes have been filmed here, including the iconic 1970's movie The Railway Children. We will disembark at Haworth, the heart of Bronte country. This pretty village was home to the beloved authors, the Bronte sisters. You have free time to explore the area, we recommend a visit to the Bronte Pasonage Museum, or you could take a walk to the Bronte bridge, visit the parish church where the Bronte's vault lies, or even walk to Top Withens, believed to be the inspiration for Wuthering Heights.

Then we will head to our hotel, the Cedar Court Bradford. This is a very comfortable 4 star hotel with it's own bar, restaurant and even an on-site health club! Dinner and breakfast at the hotel are included in the cost of your trip.

After breakfast, we'll check out of the hotel and take a short hop in the coach to Saltaire, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Enjoy the striking archetecture of this Victorian model village, full of independent shops and cafes, and visit Salt's Mill - home to world class art including the largest collection of David Hockney paintings.

Then we travel North to enjoy the beautiful and tranquil surroundings of Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden. You are free to explore the awe-inspiring ruins of a Cistercian Abbey and mill, the medieval deer park and the elegant Georgian water garden on this lovely estate. There are cafes and a resturant on site where you can take a relaxing break from exploring.

As evening falls, we will continue our journey home to London in the comfort of our coach.
