OXFORD & STRATFORD-UPON-AVON: SPOOKY SEASON DAY TRIP
HEAR SPOOKY GHOST STORIES!
DISCOVER THE HISTORIC UNIVERSITY CITY.
EXPLORE SHAKESPEARE'S HOME TOWN.
Sun 30th October
Take in the history and culture of the ancient University City of Oxford, romantically called the ‘city of dreaming spires’. Your tour guide will fill you in on some spooky stories on the way, such as the phantom fire of Broad Street and the hooded figure that haunts All Souls College.
You will have free time to head off and visit your choice of attractions, perhaps take in the marble magnificence of the Ashmolean Museum, the stunning Old Schools Quadrangle and the iconic Radcliffe Camera, as well as some of Oxford’s other beautiful architecture. You could enjoy a lovely lunch in one of Oxfords many fine cafes & restaurants.
Our next stop will be Stratford-upon-Avon, a handsome, historic town which is renowned for being the birthplace and final resting place of William Shakespeare. The streets are full of lovely Tudor framed buildings, quirky museums, tempting shops and characterful pubs to explore on wet weather days, and there are beautiful riverside walks and parks to enjoy in the autumn sunshine. On arrival, you may wish to join your tour guide for a walk around some of the town's most haunted hot spots!
