2020 Dates Tbc
On this day trip to remember we will whisk you away to experience some of the most stunning architectural wonders in Britain.
Our first stop is nestled in the heart of the Cotswolds countryside. Blenheim Palace, ancestral home to the Dukes of Monmouth, is the jewel in the crown of England’s stately homes. It is a baroque masterpiece, designed by Vanbrugh and Hawksmoor in the early 1700s. The stunning interior is a treasure trove of paintings, tapestries and antique furniture. Highlights include the grandeur of the state rooms, the magnificent Long Library, and the Churchill exhibition, dedicated to the life and work of Sir Winston Churchill who was born at Blenheim in 1874. You’ll have ample time to visit the grounds and gardens, parts of which were landscaped by Capability Brown.
The coach will then drive to one of Britain’s most beautiful cities, Oxford. Take in the history and culture of this ancient University city, romantically called the ‘city of dreaming spires’. Perhaps visit the marble magnificence of the Ashmolean Museum, the stunning Old Schools Quadrangle and the iconic Radcliffe Camera, as well as some of Oxford’s other beautiful architecture. You will have free time to visit your choice of attractions, and perhaps enjoy a lovely lunch in one of Oxfords many fine cafes & restaurants.
