Hop on board our comfortable coach and we will travel to the UK’s largest island. The beautiful Isle of Wight is known for its mild climate, lovely seaside towns, bucket and spade holidays by sandy beaches and stunning white cliffs. We will travel from London to the lovely harbour town of Lymington. From there, we will board our ferry for a pleasant 40 min sailing to Yarmouth, on the Isle of Wight.
Once you arrive it is very short hop to the first stop, Fort Victoria Park. Based around a defensive fort built in the 1850s, this is now the perfect spot for soaking up the sea views and stretching your legs. The county park is home to the Isle’s famous red squirrels. If the weather doesn’t behave, the park also houses a Planetarium, Model Railway, ‘Sunken Treasures’ museum and a café.
The next stop on your tour is home to one of the most famous views in the UK, the stunning iconic white rock formations at the tip of the Isle known as the Needles. We will stop at Needles Landmark Park and you’ll have free time to explore the attractions on offer here. Take the famous chairlift down to the beach for the best views of the Needles and Trinity Lighthouse. Visit Alum Bay Glass for demonstrations of glassblowing, or if you have a sweet tooth see sweets being made at Wight Sweet Manufactory. On a sunny day, you might wish to walk along the headland to the National Trust’s Needles Battery. Both places have cafes and ample facilities.
*Please note, entry to Fort Victoria Park and Needles Landmark Attraction are free, but some attractions within them require tickets or involve and entry fee (these are not included). Please see the websites for each place for more details.
